Dr. Ron DeHaven, AVMA CEO, discusses Pet Dental Health Month

The AVMA sponsors Pet Dental Health Month every February because so many pet owners underestimate the importance of dental health for their pets. Its estimated that by the age of two, 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats have some form of periodontal disease, an infection of the gums. Dr. Ron DeHaven, AVMA CEO, discusses the importance of Pet Dental Health Month and what pet owners can do to keep their pets teeth white and healthy.
