Fancy Sports Car Shape Dog Cat Pet Bed

We saw the picture on Amazon and were enchanted. My wife loves VWs and she loves cats, so it seemed like a great buy. But when all was said and done, we were underwhelmed at best. Good idea, poor execution.

First of all, Amazon-shipped items have me spoiled, because they are always easily tracked and arrive quickly with no drama. Not so with this third party. My order was placed on the 9th, but it did not ship until the 12th, and was not trackable until the 15th. Then when it arrived on the 21st, it required a signature so we had to sign off that it was okay to be left on our porch and we got it on the 22nd. Almost two weeks? I order a DVD and it’s in my mailbox in two DAYS.

When the bed arrived, it was folded back on itself in the box so it sagged hopelessly in the middle, doors leaning sharply to one side and all four wheels in the air. We inserted a cardboard box in the “cockpit” to try to make the doors stand straight up, but 3+ weeks later they still sag. The spoiler is attached by velcro and leans lamely to one side as well. And what’s with the “fancy lulu” license plates on the front and back? None of our cats are named Lulu. Why not let the owners customize the license plate themselves?

As for the cats, well, they’re not impressed either. Of course they were all over it when it arrived (as they are with anything new, whether it’s for them or not), but now it’s just something they walk around on the way to one of their el cheapo fake lambs-wool ovals ($9 at Petsmart… or was it Walmart?). Maybe if we rub some catnip on it they’ll come around.

Supposedly this was a $120 bed marked down to $40. I pity anyone who pays the regular price. Actually, I pity myself for having thrown away $40. My advice; save your money. Your cats couldn’t care less what their bed looks like as long as it’s soft, warm and dry.
