Kootenai Humane Society Pet Health/Safety Tip of the Week 2-12-10-Bites/Biting Dogs

Kootenai Humane Society is a private animal organization, serving Nortern Idaho and providing quality humane care, rehabilitation, adoption and education for the good of animals and their companions in our community. Kootenai Humane Society (KHS) is a non-profit organization funded exclusively by donations and grants. We receive numerous homeless animals everyday. We shelter, feed and provide medical care for these animals while searching for loving homes for them.As a no-kill shelter, animals who are in our facility do not face a “be adopted quick or else” ultimatum, but rather are cared for until they can be placed. On rare occasions, if an animal is deemed vicious or is ill beyond our means to care for it, the animal may be euthanized.
